Some Courtesy in London

London is super busy every day of the week.

Even when you decide to travel mid morning, you are still guaranteed to find the Central Tube Line as stuffy as ever. (only useful in the winter)

Sometimes while you and everyone else is in this rat race, one may forget to be considerate of others or courteous to others. (obvious?)

My husband is always reminding me to keep left or keep right and sometimes its annoying… but his constant reminders have helped me to be considerate of those in a greater hurry than I am.

Escalator Etiquette
a little courtesy won’t hurt

So while using an escalator in London, please keep right if you are too tired, cant be bothered to rush or would like to stand or chillax all the way to the top..

Please keep left if you’re in a hurry. For those who decide to keep left, please remember to keep moving.

Queue in shops or for transport (a.k.a get in line)

No, it’s not strange to find people lining up for transport. At least not here… So get with the program to avoid dirty looks and snide remarks; which you probably deserve… hmmm

Complain less

Yes, we all have established that things are done differently back home.. Yes, you are not amused… please give everyone else a break.. most of the people you are complaining to are either just like you or have heard that a million times.

Don’t complain for the sake of it.

Give up seats for the less able

The elderly, pregnant women, children, disabled persons. Even when their designated seats are taken, a little courtesy would be nice, thank you.

Three little words

Be nice. Say please, thank you and am sorry. You would think its obvious but reminders don’t hurt anything other than ego.

Respect Personal Space

I am unable to explain this but apparently people here like their personal space, try to respect it.

A little courtesy won’t hurt you. Do you agree?

eh, i complain a lot..especially about the cheese in all the food here..but i guess i should learn to complain less because to be honest stuff is better than it was back home. thanks for the reminder.

BTW….my sister finds it strange when people run on an escalator..she thinks they should just use the stairs.. oh well..

thanks Pauline :) I avoid the cheesy stuff like the plague… here its common for people to run on the left side of the escalators especially during rush hour..
